“For the past 18 years, Melanie has worked her way through a handful of kitchens, having spent the last 13 years of it with the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa. A Johnson and Wales Alumni, she started her career in Pastry, making the transition to Savory Cooking in 2018. Melanie has been table to take her technical knowledge and creativity in Pastry and apply those skills into a savory setting. Currently, she is the Club Chef for the Cabana Beach Club in Pont Vedra Beach, FL overseeing three restaurant outlets including 1912 Ocean Bar and Rooftop. Melanie’s passion is drawn from watching her mother cook for her family over the years and feeling how the love and care put into creating a dish and make someone feel. Melanie has always said that “Food has feelings and if the cook who made it loves what they are doing, that love can be tasted in the food”
