The wine lover’s ultimate tasting event with premium wines and showcase wine pairings, along with the festival’s select official beverages. The historic Lightner Museum which is the centerpiece of St. Augustine’s historic district, provides the elegant backdrop to tasting wines from around the world and sampling some of Northeast Florida’s best restaurants. A select group of restaurants have been invited to participate in Harvest. A celebrity guest judge will officiate as they compete for a coveted new Harvest Award, which requires the tasting dish to incorporate the use of a local ingredient.
Guests will receive a crystal wine glass to enjoy tasting wines and the festival’s official beverages, while meandering through multi-levels, gardens and courtyard of the beautiful Lightner Museum.
The St. Augustine Food & Wine Harvest Awards are a celebration of the diversity found in our local foodways, from fresh seafood to seasonal crops. A select group of renowned regional chefs are being invited by the festival and Edible Northeast Florida to showcase seasonal and local ingredients and create a tasting dish in these categories: Best Seafood, Best Meat, Best Vegetarian, Best Dessert and Best Overall. Participating chefs will present the same tasting dish and compete at both festival events: “Harvest Awards & Premier Wine Tasting” on Thursday, May 4 and the “St. Augustine Food & Wine Festival Main Event” on Saturday, May 6.
