As Executive Chef at the Renaissance World Golf Village Resort in Florida, DeeAnn Hobbs most loves her role of “puzzle solver” when it comes to serving the hotel’s large number of banquet guests. DeeAnn’s inquisitive nature keeps her at the top of her culinary game, saying “I like the adrenaline rush of solving problems.” She’s always willing to try something new and encourages her team to do the same.

DeeAnn’s willingness to answer any question or help address any issue that may arise makes her a model mentor to the many culinary school interns that come into her kitchen. She is seen as a leader who will take the time to teach others how they can perform their best—even in the face of adversity.

DeeAnn is also deeply committed to her community. She regularly volunteers her culinary expertise to benefit organizations like Children’s Home Society, EPIC Behavioral Healthcare and SAFE Animal Rescue. In addition, DeeAnn takes time each week to teach basic cooking skills to children at a local elementary school. According to General Manager Stephen Boudreau, “Chef DeeAnn is a beacon of service. Her enthusiasm for community events is a strong morale booster at the hotel and inspires many associates to give their time to assist as well.”
